351) Truth: Warrior who confronts others with "the truth"
352) U-Boat Kapitan: Evil Lurker
353) Undead: Repeatedly banned warrior who keeps beating the ban and coming back from the grave
354) Untouchable: A teflon warrior; for some reason, totally exempt from TOS, and it's clear they know it.
355) Ventriloquist: A warrior who generates a dummy account to agree with himself with
356) Verbal Juggernaut: Warrior slow to anger, but dangerous when attacked. Equally slow to calm
357) Veteran: Experienced, battle-hardened warrior.
358) Vigilante: A less-honorable self-appointed protector of a forum (typically beneficial)

Looks like I've found the threshold for post limits.

359) Vigilante (version 2): See vigilante
360) Volunteer: Reluctant warrior, mostly tries to help the forum run

361) Voyuer: Evil admin type; sets things up to inspire chaos, then sits back and watches it
362) Vulture / Tiger: A territorial warrior obsessed with a particular topic or person
363) Wannabe: Imitates other warriors ineffectively.
364) Warcheif: A less-capable version of The General
365) Weasel: Warrior who bends the rules as far as he can by arguing he never really broke them
366) Welcomer: Possibly a warrior, though mostly a Lurker concerned with greeting new members
367) Wererambler: Similar to Jekyll/Hyde transformation, normal warrior is transformed into an angry Rambler upon sight of a key, personal issue
368) Whistler: Warrior who confuses his enemies
369) Winged Mokeys: Warriors summoned from all over the place to aid their master
370) Word-Bender: Warrior who purposely misquotes warriors, edits their words, or quotes out-of-context

371) Wormtongue: Manipulative, evil warrior; corrupts a victim
372) Wounded Down: former great warrior; some new event has reduced their time or put them in pain, damaging their abilities
373) Wrapper, The: Attempts to kill threads upon judging them off-topic.
374) Wrinkle: Warrior who assumes everyone else is younger and therefor automatically wrong
375) Zombie: An undead warrior. Opens with a massive initial attack, will deploy a wide array of counterattacks when its attacked is hacked apart

I'm well aware I made typos. There are 375 of these things and I am tired. Just point them out in replies and I'll fix whatever's broken.

First edited Tue Feb 22, 2005 1:29 pm approx to add quick blurb for Moral cop
Second time : Tue Feb 22, 2005 1:33 pm approx to thanks irritus
A hearty WELL DONE. I gave up after the first 60.

There is one warrior I didn't label properly which was Moral Cop which is just below the Sheriff. Moral Cop describes different levels of a paranoid skewed judgemental warrior.

Typos, not caring about typos, index good.

Thanks! For the applause. I have to credit grim_squeaker with the idea.

I wasn't sure if Moral Cop was seperate from The Sheriff or simply another name for him. I'll add him at some point soon.

Impressed. Very inpressed. Could I be picky and suggest one thing? Should the warriors that start with The be put in order of the second name?
As in:

Sheriff, the
Kamikaze, the
Missin Link, the

Some of the "The XXXXX" names appeared to me to be formal titles. Like, you might be the boss, or you might be The Boss. If the word "The" seemed important as part of the name (as in changing the meaning when left off) I put it in the beginning of the name.

Wow, very impressive (and a good idea to boot). I have a couple of corrections though:

Orochi - Obsessed with revenge after a perceived forum-wide betrayal. Disappears temporarily, then reappears and burns all bridges in a very personal way; ends with kamikaze attack on forums. All Orochi are former Ronin/Nanny/Guardian/Vigilante types.

Ronin -Self-appointed guardian of the forum; acts independently and believes that the current hierarchy is corrupt. Nearly always a loner, or has lost friends.

Vigilante - A self-appointed dispenser of justice with an axe to grind; may also work for personal motives.

Color me impressed. You've obviously put a lot of work into that. Will it be updated as new warriors are suggested? What about duplicates? Maybe you should ask for volunteers to lend a hand...

With that said, I have to second the opinion that you don't really need to put 'the' in front of any warrior. From what I saw, at least, it doesn't make any difference, it just throws off the alphabetical order. But it's really up to you.

One small clarification: Roleplayer doesn't necessarily speak in Middle-English. He basically roleplays a character, so he can use any accent or idiomatic form of speech, the only requirements being that it's always present and consistent with what his character would say. He could write all his posts as a pirate, or a southern cowboy, or an elf from Middle-Earth, or a cyborg... you get the idea. Anyway, they're all annoying. Smile

Actually, there are no duplicates in the list. By that I mean every entry on the list goes to a unique warrior suggestion. Names appear twice because people suggested something with the same name twice. You may notice that Ninja, for example, has two different descriptions. Descriptions appear more than once because people recommended similar things by different names. However, adding reminders for me that certain new warriors are missing would be greatly appreciated.

Updating this will be fairly easy. I have all of this information plugged into a database. I then use a PHP script I wrote to turn that information into the text of my post, then I copy and paste. The initial plugging everything in was the most time-consuming part. It's advisable that you check the list over every now and then, as I'll be updating it and correcting it without notice.

Stone Deaf is an existing (though discontinued) warrior. This is only meant to catalog new warrior suggestions to prevent more overlaps.

As for description updates, they're only meant to be short blurbs, not 100% accurate descriptions. I'll update them if they're inherently wrong. I will not update them over being aesthetically displeasing. All of the names are links to the thread (and in some cases a sub-post in the thread) where the warriors were suggested. People find one of these blurbs that resemble their idea can click the link and read the full description.

If I start updating the blurbs based on anything other than detrimental inaccuracy, I'll be doing tweaking for hours. Hell, I don't like how a couple of mine look, but it was important to keep the descriptions as short as possible. There is a limit to how much text can be put in a single post, and more warriors are going to be added.

Should I put in a blurb which is so incorrect it totally changes the meaning, please add a post to this thread with a correction. Do not just update one of your existing posts in this thread as I almost never re-read existing posts.

Irritus, when I said 'duplicates' I meant warriors with different names who are essentially the same thing. For example Master of JPG/Pictionary/etc. There are a few like this, should they all be kept, or perhaps grouped somehow?

Ahh, sorry about that. Misunderstanding on my part. There are a number of overlaps. It's not really in anyone's power to administrate over them (except for Mike). The main reason I listed them all is so people would avoid making new overlaps.

No, you added it after the last time I updated the list. Don't worry, I'll plug it in the next time I make an update with all the other new warriors added since the last one. Good blurb, BTW. I think I'll plagerise it.

Jodo Kast refers to someone who claims to be a specific figure, hence the adopted handle of the famed Boba Fett impersonator.

I was thinking the same thing. It might be worth it to review the list and, instead of giving a number to each repeat, put them all in one section under one name and include "also known as [name]" in the description.

And also... Geez, I feel bad asking you to edit that whole thing, but nobody's critiqued the Tiny Tiger just yet. Question

Revamping the list to group things sounds like something only a totally anal-retentive perfectionist would want to do. In other words, I've been considering it.

Updated. If I missed any warrior suggestions that weren't suggested in their own threads (meaning you derailed a thread), please create a new thread for your warrior. It's too time-consuming to read all the posts in every thread for bonus suggestions. I'll add the new warriors on the next go 'round.
