This is terrible news, but I had to break it. Our friend, William Strauss, from the T4T forum, is dying of liver cancer. Reda the forum if you don't believe me. There is a thread at T4T to talk about it. My wishes are well to the man who gave us the board that allowed us to see Zilch (the biggest Jerk ever) in action. Shalom, Bill Strauss. _________________ All hail the Gray Champion! |

Who's going to care what you say about emergencies here with the name you have? You really have to think before you do this shit. _________________ I'm back, so hide your kids and grab the nearest weapon. |

Despite the gimmick sock nym, Klaxon is not lying. The thread can be accessed here.
He's also acting completely in character and doing what a good Klaxon does--spreading the awful (true) news.
BTW, Mly, I care. _________________ "Sometimes it's more important to have the right enemies than it is to have the right friends. In those cases, if you make the right enemies, you'll make the right friends."--Original. |

I just wanted to throw out a comment that I like the Big Monkey suggestion. I've seen a couple - it's not a common breed of warrior - and I can expand on this a little bit.
Big Monkey is one of the warriors who isn't interested in serious discussion, but he's not interested in causing trouble either. He's there to be the center of attention in a harmless way, like the internet version of a class clown. Or possibly Evil Clown without the Evil. He can be irritating at times, but he's not unlikable, and he's generally more or less welcome in all but the most strictly run forums. Some cunning admins and eagle scouts can use Big Monkey to break up flame wars, and sometimes Big Monkey breaks them up on his own accord. One time a nasty political flame war started and Big Monkey broke it up by proclaiming that "Bush is God's Strong Right Hand" and that "New Orleans deserved it for cutting me off after six jager bombs"... so ludicrous and over-the-top that no one took him seriously and laughed instead.
Oddly, Big Monkey is frequently a powerful warrior, and when he steps down from monkeyhood to make a serious post, he usually gets a level of respect comparable to a Godfather. At least, I've seen that happen in a couple Big Monkeys I've known. |
