Rather than take on flaming idiots directly, the Blogwarrior responds to, satirizes and mocks his enemies in a Blog, removed from the arena of the conflict.
Two main variants are the Silent Warrior, who writes only for his own amusement, attacking without mercy, venting his spleen daily, but with out mentioning the blog to his victims. This makes him seem quiet on the battlefield, but in reality his unanswered attacks are secret, but deadly.
The other types links to the Blog in the midst of combat. This leads to the sub variants, where comments are turned on, so hapless victims can respond on his turf, the Blog itself, where they are subject to the Blog Warrior as Admin.
The other version comments are turned off.
This can lead to victims becoming Blog Warriors in retaliation. _________________ -

You know I don't think they've been addressed so directly yet.
I'd would be inclined to use a broader label to cover those who create personal message boards, forums and personal Websites to do exactly the same thing, but thesedays, most people would understand blogging covers more than those who write in blogs.
I would point out, even the silent type doesn't just write for themselves. They will let a select few know, and will eventually end up with one person at the forum /list / group, who knows about the blog. Even if it may be just the case this person joined the forum, list or group from having their interest pricked by reading the blog. However, when people vent like this, they almost always have to tell someone who is relevant to their blog / other personal soapbox.
It's an excellent example of warrior that is in a forum list or group, where those who contribute to hot flames are punished by the Admin or Nanny, with banning being top of the list.
Late here, so night. _________________ The important thing is knowing who owns the fence |

I've been shredding, flaming and otherwise venting my spleen at a group of idiots who happen to be friends with the Admin, or Mods themselves. For over a year now. I've never told a soul, not has anyone figured it out.
It is one of those fucked up situations where the ruling class enforces the nebulous rules to suit there own agenda, so rather than try to take on an Admin by proxy, or run into some insane Mod, I just use the blog to respond, making myself feel all better, but without feeding the trolls, flame wars or tarbabies.
I don't want anyone to know about it. I would probably get banned over it. That they are so clueless is part of the fun of it all.
It also keeps my reputation as Zen Master or UT intact, because no matter what I never seem to respond to anything negative. While it started off as a safe way to blow off steam, it turned out to be a lot more fun that fighting with idiots, or letting some fucktard draw me into a never ending fight over some stupid issue.
A win win situation. _________________ -

You'd be one of the few who are able to resist not having at least someone close to that group, know about your blog.
It's a good approach as sometimes no matter how bullet proof your argument is and even if presented flawlessly, Stupid Ass Wrong Bastards, would deny they are indeed going to burn to their death while standing up to their knees in a tub of petroleum that's well alight. (This just boils down to denial, a very important factor in life and it's little problems.)
Back in the day when search engines actually worked, I often worked hard to see if I could find those hidden places. Every once and a while it paid off, which I suppose is the whole point and purpose of a Lurker.
A lot of us do the same, just in different ways. I for one, use what happened to me some years ago over (and continues onwards to a lesser degree even now) to highlight some awful abnormal personality disorders in my suggestions here.
Actually it's something I did when I could elsewhere on the net, pointing out tell tale personallity traits to others who might be running into the same sort of thing, but at the same time, allowing me to vent about the Nutso fruit bats that live near me in RL. (It's one thing to know you have a problem with someone and unable to fathom the why and what, but to finally arrive at the why and the what, is everything that matters.) It in a way was a silent rebuttal to their rants in various mailing lists I earnestly started to find once I knew the "reason" to their demented little views of life around them. _________________ The important thing is knowing who owns the fence |
