Data Miner knows stuff. In fact, he probably knows more about you than you do. He's searched you on all the major engines, and some that aren't so major. He's been asking questions, finding clues, and discovering your misbehavior, if there is any. He's probably assembling a clearer picture of you than you'd like. He knows all your usernames and everything you've ever posted under them. And if you tick him off, he won't hesitate to use it all against you. If you're pursuing upward mobility on a forum and step on him in the process, he'll post about your participation in a less-than-cool imageboard or your trolling on other forums - and your credibility will be gone. If you disagree with him on a political issue, he'll mention your POV-pushing on Wikipedia or the less mainstream opinions you've espoused on other forums and all serious discussion will be drowned out by the massive swarms jeering at you. Some, but not all, will attempt to gather real-world details as well.
This aura of secret knowledge brings with it great power, and although the first two or so "outings" may be regarded as desperate measures for difficult foes, other warriors will quickly suspect that Data Miner knows more than he's telling. This last bit is important because, if he were to reveal everything in one post, his target would have nothing more to lose and could attack with impunity. By revealing just enough to win and starting with the least harmful information, Data Miner can keep his target in fear as long as he wants. He's a deadly foe and an invaluable ally.
True Newbies probably have the least to fear with Data Miner, since they won't have left a trail long enough for Data Miner to use. Meanwhile, Stealths, Impostors, Rebel Leaders, hardcore flamers, and anyone who has trolled or espoused a different viewpoint than they currently hold under the same name are in major trouble when he shows up.

I'm fairly sure something like that has been suggested. I remember DR discussing it, but unsure who made a similar suggestion much like a multilevel Archiver.
Nice suggestion all the same. _________________ The important thing is knowing who owns the fence |

Spymaster is probably the closest, but there are differences. Spymaster just blackmails you, while Data Miner lets some of the good stuff slip to drive his point home.
P.S. Saw the new title for hitting 400 posts... Caffiene Junkie. lol |
