Trivial Beaver

Trivial Beaver is a weak but busy warrior. Much like an Archivist and Nitpick in many respects, but different in that they generally only worry about their little wins according to their definition. Their aim is to make the other warriors look bad with rather trivial matters. Their constant activity, involves gathering all the trivial matters they have "won" into a large pile. This activity includes politely correcting (Nitpicking) a stronger warrior in idle conversation, be the first to state the bleeding obvious, or getting the upperhand on such an unimportant and obscure matter no other warrior would bother even contesting or remembering it, or by "winning", by any other means, which is trivial enough to be judged forgettable.

Most warriors give Trivial Beaver little thought, and will often pen badly thought out dismissive posts, as a good proportion regard Trivial Beaver as a nonsensical chatter box. Once they have built their little haven, they begin to attack a bit more openly. At some point other warriors will find themselves explaining exactly what they meant when they said whatever. It is soon apparent that a smear campaign is under way, but most find it mystifying, the lack of substance there is to this exercise, or what it is exactly, that Trivial Beaver feels they can beat their chest about.

It soon becomes obvious Trivial Beaver is best ignored and left to swim contentedly in their very own little pond.

I'm not understanding this one very well. How is it different from Nitpick?

Yeah, I suppose it's hard to sum them up accurately, without actually seeing such a ###$%^@$. There are certainly elements of Nitpick and Archivist, but on the whole not quite the same.

Elements of what they do is the same as what a Nitpick does, however much activity is not what a Nitpick does. I'll try to think of an example of the difference. A Nitpick would go though and comment on any errors, whereas Trivial Beaver as a weak and perhaps not very smart warrior, would instead not draw any attention to the correction, which is part of a follow up post, with the correct details plainly written. At the time, it's Trivial, and very possible that the original mistake was clearly a typo or something else of that nature. Latter on, this trivial matter along with other things will resurface, much like what an Archivist does. Nitpicking in that manner, is among a great number of things they do.

I've left the description open, as there may happen to be smarter warriors than the one that made me aware of the existance of such a warrior in the first place.

I've got to agree with Fence Sitter on this one. This is someone who shoots for small, menial victories over a long period of time. Nitpick, much like Al Franken, points out a couple mistakes and immediately declares the target totally discreditted. This warrior builds up a case over time. Their tactic is, of course, utterly useless against those of us who retaliate against every single opposing viewpoint.
