Fency modify Subject header to point out buried suggestion, now titled.within as well.

Originally I wanted to bump up the older thread on this subject but unfortunately that was not possible.

The very basic definition of 'communism' is simply 'economic control by central command(by what means this command is conducted varies per implementation and is not inherent to communism) that is obliged to strive for equal distribution of goods and services in the highest levels of quality and quantity possible'. It's essentially an economic theory; the social values that (naturally) come with it are not inherent to the basic ideal of communism itself and are thus subordinate in relevance. This is a common misconception.

Now, I noticed that the charicature of 'Pinko' is considered by many of you here to essentially be a communist, while in no way her charicature is in accordance with what would basically constitute a true communist. Her description is basically a compilation of social values that belong to the sphere of liberalism, which have no essential connection to communism(an economic theory) in any way, let alone it be a valid description of it. Maybe it fits the common American conception of communism, but factually it does in absolutely no way.

Furthermore, 'Pinko', being considered as a (substitute for) communist by many of you which would be a logical antipole of 'Capitalista', has no indication in her description that would place her in the position of the antipole of 'Capitalista' at all, which honestly saying is not surprising since the two would be too incoherent to actually constitute antipoles.

I suggest that a separate charicature for a communist be created, that would serve as an antipole of the capitalist. This is the description that I propose, any critiques, suggestions and remarks are welcome:

The Communist

The Communist is instantly identified by the colours of red and yellow radiating from his profile, which per definition are arranged in the shape of stars, hammers and sickles. Being a staunch defender and advocate of a centrally planned economy and having tremendous knowledge of it, he will not only make exaggeratedly huge series of replies and attempted refutions when it is criticized, he will also constantly jump at any opportunity to relate communism to a specific, seemingly unrelated subject which by other Warriors can only be conceived as utterly irrelevant and annoying, making him a most despised Warrior that most others try to avoid contact with. Being the ideological antipole of Capitalista, the Communist is constantly engaged in heated debates with him and criticizes capitalism at its core at every opportunity. When Capitalista faces the Communist with fundamental problems of communism, his refutions will consist of correct but inapprehendly complex theories that almost no one is able to correctly conceive and assimilate. When he is unable to refute these criticisms, he will attempt to mentally exhaust his opponent by writing a vague and structurally incoherent reply that is so full of communist termology it will clog his opponent's mind. He is thus an extremely skilled and feared Warrior whom nobody except for Capitalista will challenge in his field of knowledge, except for any subject that is not related to communism. Due to his obvious propagandist nature, the Communist has no real allies except for sharing a common sense of alienation with Loopy that has its roots in the similiar reason of nobody being able to understand his explanations. WARNING: the Communist may have a perv-like fetish for women in Soviet WW2-era military uniforms wearing side caps, skirts and black leather boots. Try not to be traumatized when you catch him using old Soviet nostalgia material as a substitute for pornography.

Regards, Tolok.

Welcome to the forum. Yes you could have bumped an older topic to comment on it, all was required was some time to allow someone to unlock it for a few days, but really ... the suggestion belonged in its own thread.

I don't know, many would use the word as defined. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/pinko

As for you Communist description, much of it (apart from the implied extensive knowledge of socialism and communism, function and perhaps history) would seemingly group anyone who really disliked devout Capitalists. They would be grouped by your suggestion, as "Communism" is about the first place Capitalists run to, in order to try and get some ground as it's almost inevitable for their opponents not to favour a form of socialism over "greed," which can be blurred and crafted by a skilled Capitalista to represent the worst vision of communism.

I believe you want to single out the idealistic political science wannabe graduate, who either is just nostalgic of old times or more likely someone who has formed a romantic notion of what Old Russia (USSR) once was.

Generally, most western nations are strongly aligned already with socialist policies and goals.

For all the fuss we do about "runaway capitalism" virtually all of the controls and polices people attack come from a tacit acceptance of socialist policy such as direct intervention with potential for nationlization in the economy. Really the only difference between a socialist and a communist is if they want the central planning authority to do a very clumsy job of attempting to replace absolutely everything that the private sector or the individual does better, cheaper, faster, and with significantly less human rights abuses all around.

There has never to my knowledge been an actual capitalist state. Even many of the fictional versions rely very strongly on many socialist policies to seem vaguely plausible to readers.

That's why it's called a "caricature" rather than a "portrait" since it's not supposed to be completely accurate.

The word "pinko" is a slur in the US for anyone who espouses even moderately Socialist or Communist views.

What you described was Issues, with the issue of "Communism".

Bullshit.

I think frontier-era America might count.
