I've known about this meme for a while, But I believe it fits well as a flame warrior trope

I'm not aware of this meme. I guess I'm not lurking as much, like I once used to do.

Having a brief look for some idea of the meme, I didn't find very much and that I did find seemed rather inconclusive.

I was thinking it was someone who had a knack of starting very stupid or "quiet" threads, but that idea doesn't seem to pan out looking at various examples about the web.

I think you may have to explain it a little - for prosperity's sake.

A lot of the time, You'll see threads, where the OP is constantly bumping his own thread, because nobody else is taking interest. Sometimes the op bumps the thread with content, or is talking to him/her self and sometimes they just say "bump"

There are Farmers who keep old threads up to date including their own ... but I have seen poster who have a knack starting threads which are basically very dull or "no go" areas and only the courageous, will venture in to throw an oar in the water.

Sometimes it's pretty much just the regulars, and they will avoid a thread as a tactic. Let it sit there dead. If the topic is actually one they want to discuss, they will start a different thread, so they can ignore the OP

It's a very old tactic btw

I agree. It's a tactic. Or trope.

Flame tropes. Of course. The next generation.

Ah, thanks FX, now I know what the meme represents. It's a tactic on the part of the rest of the forum.

I've seen more or less the same in RL though, where a topic / person is ignored, though will be in vogue if "someone" else wants to talk about it, and may even do so in the presence of person who first brought it up, all the while actively ignoring any thing that person has to say. I've seen it a few times, and I've even had it done to myself, but the down side is when a bunch of stupids get it "so wrong" and things fail big time they inevitable tried to shift the blame away.
