Hopefully this is original, but I was thinking along the lines of a warrior dubbed as The Summarizer

The Summarizer enters into any general forum, scans the posts to get the gist of the argument, replies by grouping all the posts into one big word vomit fest, and then with anime-reminiscent ephiphany states:

"So, this is basically the point."

The Summarizer typically starts out his posts as

"Basically," or "So what you're saying is," or "So both sides believe..."

The Summarizer makes a point to stalk forums that have exciting, edgy topic discussion, but will avoid entering one of their own interests to avoid confrontation or the arousal of passionate feelings (anger, irritation). Usually, The Summarizer relishes in summarizing for the sake of preoccupation or lacks the power to assert his or her own's opinions and ideas.

They add no substance to the conversation. They are merely recaps. Warriors, Trollers, a few Issues, and maybe the occasional Admin will take a jab at The Summarizer, prompting for The Summarizer to either leave in peace, or defend his/her summarization skills.

And beware that a Summarizer can very well end up as being the Admin of a forum. Scary.

Seems a lot like ennui. Accept that rather than telling people to be more interesting he summarizes that which he is interested in. Could be a tactic of cajoling them to continue to be interesting though, which I would say is something ennui might easily do.

Hrm, this is a trolling technique... could pass for a warrior. It's definitely the first time someone's suggested it.

To A_B: The summarizer is one of those people who steps into a flame war and rephrases one side (or maybe both sides) of an argument into something it's not. For example, if there was a flame war going on here as to whether or not flaming should be illegal, and some dumbass popped in and summed up the pro-flaming side as saying, "Promoting suicide is a good thing because depressed people deserve to kill themselves."

Hmm, I must have read it wrong then. I still think it could use some touching up and stuff though.

No, I agree, Anarchy_Balsac. It needs major revising.

And while it could be a tactic of many a warrior, it's an entirely different thing when the whole neitizen's world revolves around the purpose of summing up everyone else's input.

I put some more pensive thinking in this, realizing that some of the info wasn't as accurate as I had imagined it to be, and basing it off the replies. How about this instead...

The Summarizer makes a point to stalk forums that have exciting, edgy topic discussion that involves arousal of passionate feelings (anger, irritation) and pages of heated confrontations. Usually, The Summarizer relishes in summarizing for the sake of preoccupation or lacks the power to assert his or her own's opinions and ideas.

They add no substance to the conversation. They are merely recaps. However, the Summarizer has a terrible tendancy to misinterpret previous posts, and will sometimes unintentionally or purposely distort their summary to their liking. Warriors, Trollers, a few Issues, and maybe the occasional Admin will take a jab at The Summarizer, prompting for The Summarizer to either leave in peace, or defend his/her summarization skills.

This seems more fit for a tactic than a warrior type, if you ask me. While warriors like Troller may use it to provoke flame, I'd imagine that those who use the said tactic often enough to make it considerable for a warrior likely don't use it for provocation.

On a side note, have we met before? I've run into two different people posting under the handle Double D in the "flame community."

Really, irritus? Damn it, I picked the wrong nickname.

I assure you, I am not the one behind the flaming. I joined not too long ago. @_@

Damn, I was hoping you were the other one. It's good to have decent trolls around. Regardless, welcome to FW.

Irritus and I have battled, at length. The end result was actually a truce, as we are both tireless rebutters (Irritus moreso), and saw no further need to attack one anothers' points of view since we actually agreed and respected the other before very long, even though I was pretty much everyone's enemy at the time. How many other people that Irritus has argued with can say the same?

If they still have the ability to speak and are not in a padded room somewhere drooling down their straight jacket, that is...

Who the fuck cares? And who the fuck are you? I asked about bonesaw, not you or irritus. Are you a bonesaw sock? Which would make you a sock or a sock... No don't answer, I don't give a fuck. Either answer the question or not, but what is with all the blather that doesn't answer the question, but does try and make it all about you?

If you are indeed a different and wonderful person, and are simply confused, then ignore all that.

Here's a better idea, lolchuckles. How about I just pretend I ignored it and in reality get you set up with an appointment with a good anger management therapist that does a little electro-shock work on the side, you fucking idiot; my nic was changed from Bonesaw to The Commissar last night, probably whist you mined for brown gold and posted something completely moronic and irrelevant as has become your trademark, you clueless shit. I am a worthy opponent, moreso than most of the fetid fudgepackers of this minty green tropical paradise, so next time pay attention to something as simple as a name change like most forum veterans do instead of licking batteries when you should be spelling things out for yourself; this is not grade school where you spent the first 18 years of your life and still have yet to master how to avoid making yourself look like a tit. Mmk?

I expect to be put into a near comatose state by your typically lackluster rambling response.

Also, tell me dumpling, in what reality does this small pile make a lick of sense? First of all, if you meant to say a sock OF a sock, you're a schmuck, as Bonesaw is not a sock, and even if you didn't, your statement was a textbook example of redundancy. Secondly, if you don't give a fuck, why did you stick your face in mine, begging to have it chewed off? I fail to see the logic in why Irritus chastises poor Flamingo for her toddler-esque behavior when she is easily a few rungs above you on the evolutionary ladder, and pissing in your face.

Depends on the competition. He's fairly good in an argument, thick-skinned, and like myself has no problem with making himself the butt of his own jokes.

I can confirm this to be the case.

It is a long-held belief, among some members of the Congratulatory Clique (myself included), that the color scheme of the forum and location of all important navigation at the bottom of every page are a major contributor to the hostility levels here. Most regulars, upon returning to FW after being away, have reported they immediately feel like just smashing someone in the face.

So then, glory to the Mintness! May it consume your souls with rage!

You know, actually I find the theme somewhat relaxing and the location of the buttons convenient.

Certain users do piss me off, though.

I have to say, the vomit colored walls in this place apparently don't diminish my ability to drive people into a frenzy of post avoidance, or "tail between the legs" syndrome...

I've had more solid opposition from a good dump than from FX; why he has Godzilla in his avatar confuses the shit out of me though... when he more resembles the little Asian man in the movies who is the first to spot the gigantic electro-lizard and hide behind a mound of his own feces...

Is this the gayest thing i've ever read? No.

But it's certainly up there in that same ballpark.

Thanks, irritus, for welcoming me.

Eep... it was a lot of discussion going on while I was offline.

Do the threads normally go off topic like this?

I seem to recall beating you so one-sidedly you committed suicide. This was followed by all the women of the board throwing themselves at me while the elders had me surgically detached from my computer chair then reattached to a golden one. Then a bunch of oddball cultists started bringing me bread and ask me to look out for their loved ones in the Matrix... actually it's a bit hazy what happened next. I think I battled Satan to get your soul back.

Constantly, but I try to curb it while a suggestion is still being evaluated.
