Untouchable - Untouchable appears out of the blue and immediately causes trouble. He blatantly ignores TOS conditions, he insults, he heckles, he treds on sacred ground and leaves muddy footprints, he posts links to inappropriate images, he's lewd, he's crude, and he's in a bad mood. He seems pretty chummy with a select few warriors, and drops hints that he may personaly know a few of them, but to 99% of the other members, he's a nuisance.

Other warriors distance themselves from this uncouth rogue, and paitently wait in the wings for Nanny, Admin, or SOMEONE to step forward and stop the madness, but to thier dismay, nothing happens. Despite repeated emailings and bad post reports, the executive powers fail to take action. There is much hand-wringing by Admin, who seems hesitant to admit to the obvious infractions, or tap-dances around them like a politician caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Okay, so he's broken a few rules, but he hasn't done anything worthy of intervention. Lesser powers like Nanny may publicly sympathize with the plight of the board, but suddenly are clinging fast to the chain-of-command and cannot act wihout Admin's approval. There is nothing they can do, Untouchable seems to have the protection of the divine.

As chaos reigns, and cries for order from the masses go ignored, some may form vigilante groups with the intention of taking the newcommer down. Alas, they soon find themselves rounded up and admonished for thier "bad behavoir" One or two of the more popular members may by brought to the chopping block and made examples of so the rest of the forum gets the message, Untouchable is off-lmits.

Over time, Untouchable is grudgingly accepted as a warrior who can backstab and behave as he pleases, and the source of his mysterious immunity from control remains a mystery to all. Is he related to Admin? A brother? a cousin? an old high school friend? Does he have naked pictures of someone? Is he resorting to bribery? No one really knows

The only weapon that has any glimer of hope of defeating Untouchable is ignorance.

Haven't personally seen too many of these, thankfully. Typically they are either spared because the admin is preoccupied with the fear of being seen as a censor or due to direct protection for which no one can guess the reason. Definitely a good suggestion.

You might want to add that, if Untouchable is female, it could well be she slept with a board's owner, I've seen it happen.

Yeah, the admin's girlfriend, that sort of thing. Seen it before, although I've never seen it where the untouchable was really obnoxious. Sometimes it can be a younger relative of the owner or admin, such as a niece or nephew.

These guys can kill a board really fast, and provide powerful ammuntion to Rebel Leader.

Well if you REALLY want to see one, I can give you the URL, but it's not a pretty sight.

I knew an untouchable. I put up with him (the whole chain of command thing) until A- he went a little too far and B- I was promoted to a moderator with ban power.

The admins didn't like the end result, but enough of the others went Me-Too after I told them in no uncertain terms that I wasn't putting up with him anymore.

And peace returned to the forums. For 17 1/2 minutes. Confused

Well BD, I wish that the Admin on the board I'm speaking of had been as fair as yours. This one took me on and literally ran me off, and Admin did nothing. I think that's what I'm doing here, skewering the bastards.

Besides, a good forum always has arguments, that's what makes life interesting.

I think it's a good thing for people to get abused once or twice by the scum of the internet. Yeah that sounds bad, but follow me a minute. People who have to take &#^% and stew on how bad it feels are more likely to defend someone else when it happens to them. The general tolerance for rotten behavior disgusts me. Anti-social posters wouldn't stick around a forum if they were universally attacked on-sight.

This sounds very much like L'enfant provocater. Especially the posting porn pics and immaturely going "HAHA I know such and such person".

I've encountered several Untouchables at the different forums I've been at

and Admins always gave posters who complained the old "I know he's annoying, but he hasn't technically broken a rule" spiel.

Further more, if an Admin actually banned an Untouchable, several people (usually Jerk's and Trollers) would start some kind of campaign to bring the Untouchable back, and it always worked unfortunately.

I was run off a forum by the admin of the said forum because i took an exceptionally hostile stance to one of these. I got about half a dozen posters to leave with me, but i wasnt really trying to do that.

In my opinion its a good one.
