| If a Kung-Foo Master wanders into a Swarm Hive of Ferrus Cranus, and nobody is around to acknowledge that he won, did he still win? |

I imagine that if a Kung-Fu Master were to do such a ridiculous thing, he'd know some kinda way to break them down. But that's theoretical. Thing is, though, the practicality of it.
It's not likely that a swarm hive comprised entirely of Ferrous Cranus types is likely to exist; there would have to be some variation to balance the site at large out and keep the entire community stable. The big players to wrap the site's CC tightly together, the satellite members to extend the social reaction out to such a scale that it could be maintained for a fair length of time, etc. If an entire member-base were consumed like that, reduced to nothing but mindless Ferrous Cranus types, I'd theorize the place would die off in very short order, before the totality of the gruesome transformation were even complete, due to the utter lack of any social dynamics to spark discussion, let alone flame wars. Further, Ferrous Cranus types are incredibly weak, especially if ignored, making them capable of taking over an entire site through social means probably downright impossible in the first place.
What's more, the existence of anything like a Kung-Fu Master to walk into an already questionably existent hive is questionable as well; they're spoken of on the list as if they're supreme warriors above all even without proof, but due to their virtuous nonaggression and cock-sureness of that superiority, it's rarely if ever proven to any but themselves. They could just be egomaniacs of a calmer and more tolerable sort, for all most should know and be able to attest to. The odds are just so ludicrously stacked against the situation from all sides, is the thing. It's like "if a tree falls in a forest," probably intentionally given how you worded it. But it's worse than that, being volumes more unlikely in practice, whether observable or not.
But! A theoretical answer?: Assuming even that the KFM couldn't break down any of the Ferrous Cranuses, (Cranii?) then the lurkers. There would likely be at least one to acknowledge his victory other than he, among them. The 90/9/1 rule comes into play here: Only 1% of an internet community generally creates original content, and are by far the most intimate with the site and its purpose. Only 9% so much as discusses that content, and are less intimate but still enough to want to discuss it. The remaining 90%, though, are lurkers, with degrees of personal interest in the topic, in theory, widely varying from next to none or even none at all, to almost enough to want to register and discuss. Therefore, they wouldn't necessarily be Ferrous Cranuses like the main content-creating/discussing members of the site, and may in fact so thoroughly dislike them as to very much accept the KFM's victory, though not take their offensive nature personally enough, being lurkers, to come out of nowhere and fight alongside him. _________________ Everything that has transpired in this thread has done so according to my design.
