Tha Savior is not a religious character in most cases - he or she is a dauntless (and often clueless) crusader to "save" some group of people (usually children) from a threat that simply does not exist, Whether it is from "secret government mind control rays," the flouidation of our water or "hypno-rapists," Savior will push his or her unsupported allegations and will do nothing to support their claims at all.

Out of interest, have a look under Moral Cop suggestion in the link below. I tried to define 2 types of Moral Cop, basically Mild and Fanatic.
I saw your suggestion, I believe it easily fits in the very broad Moral Cop catagory.
They certinly don't support it with facts. They are dauntless (great word by the way) because they are nutty.
