This warrior always has the same strategy. He will enter into a debate with someone, lose thoroughly, take out his fustrations on other warriors, then when he is challenged by too many warriors, he will post that he is leaving the forum and never coming back.
Come-Back will leave...however....one week later, he will suddenly come back. When asked why, he will give a poor excuse ("Oh, I didn't mean it" or "Oh, this forum needs me") or none at all for his return.
However, the same sequence of events will happen several dozen times, each time it does happen warriors will tolerate it less and less until finally Come-Back becomes so hated that he is either run out of the forum or Admin banishes him forever. |

I've seen lots of these, I'll attempt to elaborate.
This person (I call them yo-yo's) will post for a little while, lose some trivial argument, and then usually post a 3 page long whiny-bitch-fit rant about how bad the forums have become since after they joined, and that they are never coming back, and everyone is stupider than they are, etc.
Then within 30 days they come back and expect to be welcomed with open arms. When they're not, the cycle starts again.
Eventually an admin will make sure they stay gone after they leave. _________________ Shoot low, boys! The outlaws are ridin' Shetland Ponies! |

Oh! Yeah, I've seen these types. Okay, definitely a unique warrior. I'd suggest rewriting this and elaborate on the activities. _________________

| I've seen these guys too. Often with obnoxiously high post-counts, the result of posting a lot of useless "me too" crap. They somehow feel that their thousands of useless donations to the thread pool elevate them to a higher status. |

I think this is more of a tactic than a warrior type. I have seen many different types of warriors resort to this tactic.

The ones I know tend to make a dramatic "resignation speech", and then kind of slink back to the discussion a couple of weeks later. _________________ www.jhyphen.com |

Oh yea, know one of these well - several of the forums I'm on are on the same subject, and she is well known to one and all. Good call. _________________ The Average Woman Would Rather Have Beauty Than Brains Because The Average Man Can See Better Than He Can Think |

I think the name Boomerang suits them better, as no matter how many times they leave, they keep coming back.
I really dont like these guys... |

I actually knew a "come back" guy in an on line game forum; same thing as Big Dog described, except he came back as a different alias. Eventually the Admin got so sick and tired of this guy that he made a rule: "Come Backs" are strictly forbidden and will result in perma-ban. _________________ Big Cat |

| So basically it was a "Once you leave, you have to stay away" kind of rule? |

Its usually phrased in a boards TOS as: "Once you have been banned you have forfieted your right to post at this site.. Any subsequent accounts will be banned."
On one board ive posted at we identified about fifteen different accounts of a single arsehole who went by the name of Bob. Below is his write up of the events that led to him being kickjed off two forums. Also, please note that none of the forums on his list asked to be there.
| The site of Bob wrote: |
"DarwinAwardsForum"(UK+) was put under Inquiry and refused at ifAfi until the outcome of investigation on well-documented complaints for Vicious Harassment, petty Provocation, gross Insults, Discriminatory restrictions against free speech from the outset, Spying, Degrading treatment and Mob-like Aggressions hindering People to express different Ideas.
Shamelessness and Political hostility led a further-Offender from DAF to infect its small appendix, "E-Penguin"(UK+), destroying (with a corrupt accomplice incapable of debate) an initially sympathetic community : Suddenly pushed into cover Political Censorship and a Nightmare of Cowardly Harassment by Petty, Stupid, Sick Insults, trampling underfoot human Dignity, vicious Degrading treatment and Threats targeting People hindered to reply or express Ideas; apology even of Murders, etc. It fell so Low in Dirtiness, Hate-speech and Morbid Scatology that it became a Public Risk to destabilize and gravely affect Children, Women, Aged People or any Sensitive person : an Insult to the Worldwide Web Community. (Despite healthy members' attempts to stop the "massacre", others' departure or veiled criticism of offenders, the grave damage was not repaired). Parallel to Exclusion from ifAfi's list, (delayed to provide eyeWitnesses to Victims), well-documented Complaints are to be lodged against perpetrators of cyberCrimes. |

Every bolded accusation is me. He didnt like me much, especially since i led the groups of people who threw him off both boards. He exaggerates a lot of it
"Threats targeting People hindered to reply or express Ideas; apology even of Murders, etc. "
This was when one of the posters suggested sending our Dutch member over to his house with a cricket bat
He hasnt been back since one of the admins banned France.
He did go back to the Darwin awards forum, only to be swarmed. He went under the name "Prometheas" there, so you can look him up in the member list if you want. The other forum, the E-Penguin forum (Named ever so originally by its founder, E-Penguin) has lost its posts, but the fifteen usernames i spotted are still sitting in the members database.
This guy was a combination of Issues, Filibuster, Ego and Come-Back.
Edit to fix quote tag and to add that he gous under the name of Setlambda usually, and is called Setlam on the CSB forum linked to from that site. |

| I call this type Nixon because they always give the "You won't have me to kick around anymore" speech before they leave. Half the time they don't leave even for a short while -- they just keep giving the speech. Clearly they are hoping someone will actually ask them to stay. Every once in a while someone actually does, to the great chagrin of everyone else.... |
