TTH (Tries To Hard): A rule of thumb that most newbies do (or should) know, is that the key to being accepted quicker, not getting turned into a Target, or just being plain disliked on a forum, is to make good, intelligent, thought provoking posts, or be at least somewhat naturally funny (You could be funny for the wrong reasons and become popular, but that's a different story all together)

with TTH, he comes to a forum and right away starts a charge of posting, making 6 or 7 threads in a row on the subject prevalent to the forum he is on (90 percent which get no replies at all.). Along with that, he also makes responses in threads started by veteran posters and puts what they consider witty and funny comments. However, these things that they do aren't done naturally and with a flow to them. No, you can tell right away that TTH is forcing it, almost as if he is saying "Man! I'm sure these guys will find me funny and intelligent! They'll accept me right away for sure.!"

Thus, most, if not all of the other forumers will see that TTH is, in fact, trying to hard, and they'll either ignore him until he goes away, or just plain bluntly call him out on his behavior and turn him into, yes, a Target.

Red Herring: Red Herring's usually start out as trouble makers to begin with. However, even when they mellow out and stop trolling/spamming/etc, they receive no peace on the forum they are on.

Usually, whenever the majority of new spammers/trolls comes along and disrupts the board, all fingers point to Red Herring as the culprit. Even when proof comes that it is not in fact him doing the trolling (IP numbers), a select few still stubbornly cling to the belief that he is the one causing the trolling.

Warning: Prolonged "Red Herring" of someone who has "reformed" usually results in his relapsing back into a Troll/Jerk/etc.

TTH has been suggested as Instant Oldbie but I think your description is a bit more thorough.

Red Herring I haven't heard before, could be a new one...

At a quick glance, Red Herring seems different to Reformed

Instant Oldbie? Really?

Hmm, to me, the two (IO and TTH) seem a bit different, but I'll take your word for it.

Actually, as I recall Khorne's followers kill their victims as quickly and painlessly as possible to avoid giving energy to his enemy Slaanesh. Pfft. Weekend aspiring champions like you all make me sick.
