Anytime you want.
It seems I have to create a new monicker every day (they keep banning them). People are now offering up suggestions on the new "Guff" name I should take.
If you look on the general forum, there appears to be some mounting support for me, which I'm sure will irk the moderators. I think humour is the weapon of choice to cultivate more support. If you're going in, try this tactic. Obscure semi-related posts is also recommended. A carnival atmosphere that is derived because of these bannings is what I think will be most effective.
The fellows to whom I was discussing the Peace Treaty may intervene on my behalf and get the administrator onside. In exchange, I have offered up some minor concessions considering that they can't really ban me permanently.
Apparently, there are some other members (not sure who) who do not want any compromises with me and want me gone at all costs.
It's quite the soap opera.
I don't see how I can really lose in this. Most people (including me) don't really know why I was banned to start with and now the bannings are because I complain about the previous bannings. The deeper this goes, the more tarnished the reputations of the moderators become.
This fiasco is an Ego's dream. |

Yes finally I found I can post a reply
I might leave it though, considering things are on the up and up for you at present. No need or want to distract them from the obvious - most new posts are about you now. heh heh. _________________ The important thing is knowing who owns the fence |

I have a similar setup, except I have 2 computers (Thinkpads, actually) and one of them is a dual-head setup, so I have 3 monitors. Using win2vnc I can control them both from (oh yeah, one is linux, one is XP) from a single mouse/keyboard seemlessly (the cursor jumps from screen to screen, even across platforms/os's). |

| I like to have two or three different CGI proxies open in multiple tabs and toggle between them; I can be logged in as more than one user and post with various IP addresses simultaneously. |

I have a datajack in my head, and I can plug into my data haven's network with several hundred computers and no monitors. _________________

Huh.
Well, I tried to get back on my old stomping grounds using the proxy server method.
It didn't work as they now installed something called "Web Guard", which apparently foils any use of proxy servers.
Rather amusing that they're going to all these lengths to keep me out for some rather minor disobedience.
Anyone have some practical suggestions to get around this new defense? |

| This is a shot in the dark, but have you tried something like anonymizer.com? Not sure if it'll be defeated by proxy blockers, but you can try it for free. It helped me get around an IP ban during some.. unpleasantness a couple of years ago. |

I think I looked at it initially before going with the proxy server thing.
I might revisit that and see if that'll work. Thanks for the reminder. |

The avatar does look good, however...
I propose that far better suited to Guff would be the image of Ego looking into the mirror, and Diana looking back. _________________

Wait cant you get into a ton of trouble for using a proxy? Btw, if I use a proxy on a huge site like IGN or GAMESPY can I get into any legal trouble or have my internet access cutoff permanently because I would like to get back to those sites. _________________ 1f y0u c4n r346 7h15 7h3n y0u n336 70 g37 1416 1053r. |

Huh. I have no idea. I thought it was ok to use but not 100% sure. |

Proxys are not illegal, you can't get in trouble for using them. Not that they'd be able to track you down if you used one anyway... or at least it would be very hard, especially if the proxy is in another country.
When I used to be a bit more, hmmm... bad with my internet behavior I would proxy from a server that was located in Kenya (or at least somehwere in Africa). I'd love to see the police trace that. _________________

Enjoy
I had to shrink the whole thing down to keep the small background image from looking pixelated, but it should be okay for avatar purposes. |

Not really, especially if the proxy is autonomous and has a few people logged in. They'd have to double-check everyone, and some people even use multiple proxies. It would take forever to even get close to nailing whoever did it. _________________

I found the "New Terms of Agreement" at my old forum amusing: http://forum.uniontrib.com/upload/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44639
I better copy it here in case they... uhh... change their mind:
