An Hero
An Hero is the guy who makes a fool of himself or takes a troll too seriously, then martyrs his account to gain attention and pity. An Hero is typically regarded as an undesirable forum participant to begin with, and his publicity stunt seals the deal.
Pheonix Down
Pheonix Down is what happens when An Hero decides he likes the place after all and re-registers. He then demands to be loved and accepted just like a veteran member. Instead, whatever made him ragequit the first time will be run into the ground. His reasoning is one of those impenetrable internet mysteries which will never be solved.
WARNING: Typically, every post this warrior makes will attract more abuse and jeering, often derailing threads. The site staff will quickly tire of this, and Pheonix Down may become a Diplomatic Immunity.
Ultimate Sacrifice
Ultimate Sacrifice risks - and often recieves - bans and jail time to get rid of a Target, Troller, or Noob by whatever means required, including viruses, hacking, and social engineering. If the forum isn't quite ready to go that far, which they often aren't, Ultimate Sacrifice gets banned and his victim becomes The Martyr.
The Martyr
The Martyr is what happens when Ultimate Sacrifice targets someone who isn't annoying enough to warrant forceful expulsion. All his sins are instantly forgiven and he is welcomed back by the site. Often, however, it doesn't take long for The Martyr to rebuild his sizeable enemies list.
Diplomatic Immunity
Occasionally, when a Target or Pheonix Down is beaten on too hard, the site staff will have pity on him and grant him amnesty. He will then take full advantage of his newfound protection and become unbearable. He is become Diplomatic Immunity, destroyer of stuff, and he is the reason you should never give a persecuted member special protection.
Alpha Male
Alpha Male is the ultimate manly man... or at least he wants you to think he is. Actually, he's so insecure you can almost see a closet forming around him as he types. Common characteristics include continual references to his signifcant other and his frequent trips to the gym.
Bully Boy
Bully Boy is everything Alpha Male is and more. In addition to the standard manly man sludge, he'll make threats of physical violence, and often death, against anyone who disagrees with him. His omnicidal rage is actually quite laughable, especially when his target lives in a different country.
Armchair Soldier
Armchair Soldier is a comical hybrid of Centurion and Profundus Maximus. Drawn to war discussions like a moth to a bug zapper, he is easily identified by his distinctive battle cry of "I know how I'd react in a combat situation because I've played Counterstrike!" In discussions of gun videos, he says stuff like "I've used this gun in Call of Duty and it's way more accurite that this! I pwnzor noobs with it!" He is also prone to calling a Desert Eagle a "Deagle." His ignorance, predictably, makes him a favorite target of Centurion.
Thought Police
Thought Police is in ur base, reportin ur misbehavior. He will not hesitate to waste police time by reporting any and all accounts of minor sin, typically street racing, even though the statute of limitations ran out years ago and the police wouldn't care anyway now that the described events are over. Thought Police is incredibly annoying, though fortunately very rare.
WARNING: The Canadian authorities love this guy.
*does stuff*
*shifts*
*looks around*
*begins description*
*does stuff* is the guy who narrates his posts by putting actions between asterisks, as in *looks around*, *puts up flame shield*, *flees*, *is shot*, and so on. Also prone to using emoticons like <_<, >_>, V_V, >_<, and T_T. Really not all that annoying, but a few of them can get carried away with emoting their posts and it can become quite burdonsome to *wade through all the stuff he's doing*.
NOTE: About 95% of the GameFAQs population does this to one degree or another due to lack of emoticon images. Even I do it sometimes.

| I've noticed quite a few times that whenever mods grant the sort of power that Diplomatic Immunity has, it's usually because they think him so pathetically funny that they want to keep him around, despite calls for his head. |

Maybe sometimes, but I've observed it playing out exactly the way I posted it. There was an almost-troll who was getting his butt kicked left and right, admins changed his username, etc. Eventually it just got excessive, so the admins gave him special protection against hostility. Boom - within a few days he'd morphed into a complete and utter jerk.

I've seen it happen *that* way as well.
The way I was thinking of happened over at 411mania.
A *Really bad* yet *really freakin funny* troll came, got pwned easily by everyone, mods/admins got a kick out of him and granted him DI so he could not be yelled at or flamed by newbs or people who didn't get the joke. |
