Rambler
Rambler has a tendency to lose track of what he's talking about. He is also quite tenacious but has tendency to disregard or purposely "misunderstand" counterpoints. As he continues to ramble on-and-on, it's only a matter of time before his logic contradicts itself. Similar to stream-of-consciousness writing, it all just pours out with little format or logical structure. For some reason, though, his verbal wandering has hynotic power, and it is likely people who agree with what he argues for will disregard what he argues with.
If Rambler has any major advantage, though, it's that most people will quit reading his rant, or simply will lose track of what he was saying. Despite all this, Rambler himself is only mildly annoying. Unfortunately, some warriors are part Rambler, making them vastly more aggrivating to contend with. Ideologue-Rambler and Issues-Rambler are the most common half-breeds.
Rambler's natural enemy is Archivist.
Wererambler
The Wererambler is a much more fearsome beast than the Rambler from which they get their namesake. A Wererambler is a normal warrior for the most part, often a rational or powerful one. However, upon the rising of a particular issue they transform into a supernatural being, part man and part Rambler. Though not much different from a Rambler in style, they tend to be stronger and more resistant to attacks. In addition, the reputation they carry in human form often lends more credence to their rants than is deserved.
Wereramblers often are unaware of their condition. Upon discovery, they are often very embarassed and will seek a means to break their curse.
NOTE: Wereramblers tend to only have one issue that reduces them to gibbering idiots. Anyone claiming to be a Wererambler is virtually always a Rambler half-breed employing wishful thinking.

Hmm yes sound familiar. I gather, WereRambler is someone with good credentials then going off in a ramble. Ideas Page _________________ The important thing is knowing who owns the fence |

Unfortunately I've never seen the description of that "Rambler". If it was a different warrior with the same name, I could always change the name. Wereramble is someone who transforms into a Rambler upon seeing a certain issue come up. An issue that just pushes their buttons and makes them lose themselves in a flood of emotions (typically righteous indignation, venemous hatred, or panicked rage). _________________

It was still good, and actually I havn't had a look at the description in the guest book yet. OK had a look, only twice such a label was used. Basically to mention some one how wanders off topic. Not all on the ideas page are in the guest book. Many would be from email and perhaps the older guestbook
Also here
Yeah, we've all met Ramblers.
It's a considered tactic by some to distract the battle away from something stupid they said.
I'd change "it's only a matter of time before his logic contradicts itself." to "it may only a matter of time before his logic contradicts itself."
Some of these guys have solid thinking, but are absent minded or the like, and go into other interesting areas.
I see where you are going with the Wereramble. a Jekyll and Hyde type warrior, except suddenly they head off onto 101 different subjects. could possibly be someone deliberately trying to lure the field away from an area. _________________ The important thing is knowing who owns the fence |

Not exactly. It's someone who flips out over one key issue, completely changing their normal behavior.
A couple posts were lost, unfortunately, where it became clear Wererambler is similar to a part-time Furious Typist, but much more tenacious. _________________

| Yes, the thing I posted here before the hack was that Rambler is fairly similar to Furious Typer. They both go for quantity over quality and pay little attention to the actual argument. |

That's what it was. My reply got eaten as well.
Rambler and Furious Typer only have one thing in common, that they tend to type a lot. The major differences are that Rambler is tenacious, may vary post size, and tends to be more condescending or matter-of-factly than emotional. Rambler may even be good-natured and positive; it's the constant tendency to not think/structure his dialog that causes problems.
Furious Typer is more like Wererambler than Rambler. _________________
