http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=133149

I ask a simple question (yes, my name is White & Nerdy there) on why a certain special version of a videogame wasn't available in the US, and boom, attack of the haters... "WAAAAH WAAAAH AMURIKKKA IZ TEH SPOILED DEY BGET ALL T3H DEMOEZ AND DEY GET EVERY GAME RELEASEDD ERLY IN DAT SPOILED CUNTRY AND YUROPE AND AZIA DESERVE SUMTHIN BETTER NOW DAT AMURIKKKA CANT GET!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111111" Eat ... you dumb tards.

There are one or two answers that make sense in that thread, and it's not hard to figure out which ones they are.

OH I edited the tittle, just so the sightings list is polite.

Interesting thread. Nice demonstration of a Grenade.

Well if there is a competition, that might explain the whole thing.

But yes, people do get sore when they are blocked from getting stuff and participating in "normal" forum stuff because some links to visit won't work because someone in the US has decided YOU AIN"T GETTING IT SCUM!!!

I strike it a bit trying to get stuff from the UK. I use those sort of places to test proxies. You'd be surprised that MANY now are not true proxies.

That is one of the reasons I don't support "BUILT IN UPGRADE UPDATE ONLY" games / software. IF you can't download the mod or update, just forget it, don't buy it, don't be part of perpetuating that type of crap.

I think you're missing the point.

It wasn't an intentional grenade, just a question.

Basically, Gran Turismo 5 is available in Standard edition for $60, Collector's Edition (pre-order only) for $100 (includes five ingame cars, known as "Chromeline", one "Stealth" car that varies by retailer, and a bunch of commemorative crap), and Signature Edition (pre-order only) for an unknown amount (includes more commemorative crap, six Chromeline cars and all five of the otherwise retailer-specific Stealth cars). It's the latter that isn't avaialable in the US, meaning I'll have to cheat/hack for the extra cars. I asked why, and the haters jumped in with the "FUK AMURIKA LAWLZ I SUX" comments.

Apparently, people purchasing the SE were entered in a drawing to win a hot Mercedes, but M-B USA didn't want to go along with it.

Whether you knew it was or wasn't a Grenade is besides the point. It apparently is on that list.

I know what you're asking, "it is not available to your location" is something I've run across more than I'd like.

Yes, the US does impose some really shitty things on the rest of the world. I know, being a long time lurker, those outside the US have a really shitty time trying to access some simple pathetic services that are taken for granted, like it's some big deal. I've noticed surely but slowly the rest of the world do the same thing back.

You have to expect that some people are simply going to get the shits, when they might strike the same sort of thing every day, and somewhat intolerant of someone in the US having a whinge about the same sort of thing.

If you don't care about the draw, can you get "another" the same as, or is it one of those upgrade/ purchase via game only? OK I did some googling, it's for purchase. Haven't thought about online ordering from the UK?

Too much trouble. I just went to Amazon and preordered the CE. I guess I'll cheat/hack to get the extra cars, or hope they appear as paid DLC on the US PSN now that the contest is over.

Anyway though, I was mostly ranting about haters in this thread.

It was an interesting thread, even if it was short, it shows there are some very very sore people out there.

No I wouldn't call them haters. They are acting very indignant because someone from the US is complaining about something they hit all the time. If you pull a WTF can't I get this because it's only available in the US every second day, you might also lash out as someone asking why someone from the US can't get something -- for once.

Hey, I can look around and ask a few people. Dvd's aren't that hard to copy.

No problem dude. I'll just live with what I have, don't try and get me a SE because you'll be wasting your effort. I only buy from established e-commerce organizations, not random people on the internet.

Except eBay and Craigslist of course.

No I ask those who are actually buying the product from a physical store. I'm sure if they had a copy they'd know what mod you might need Smile
