I have Norton, Zero Alarm Pro, a physical firewall, Linux AND Firefox and I still don't feel completely covered - just as covered as I can find to do. There are probably still holes. _________________ The Average Woman Would Rather Have Beauty Than Brains Because The Average Man Can See Better Than He Can Think
I've never had a virus alert at this site. I used to use Norton until it allowed a trojan to slip onto my system, forcing me to wipe the hard disk and reinstall the OS; now I use Avast 4 (free, and has never let me down).
I used to use IE in lockdown mode with Java, Active-X, and scripting disabled, but I finally caved and tried Firefox last November. Now I love FF so much that I'd never go back to IE.

Norton is the devil. I use avast too, it works much better and of course the free thing is always nice. _________________
How do you guys think Avast compares to AVG antivirus, or do you know? I think I used Avast for a little while but it seemed to bog my system down, so I have been using AVG but for some reason I don't trust it -- the software just seems really 'ghetto', I suppose.
I use Avast mainly because it supports many unusual archive types, though most experts think it's equal to or very slightly better than AVG. If your computer is very old or slow, I'd go with AVG, or for a one-year free trial with cheap renewals, EZ Antivirus, which is very light on resource usage.
