Along with "report inaccurate whois listing"
As of the other day, Privacy Protect, the spam enablers "bounces" complaints about this domain and claim nothing to do with them. ie they deny.
I should get someone local to ring the number, its a Queensland number.
In 40 days or so, suddenly PP will jump into gear and start accepting reports .. but only for a few days. After they started bouncing once again, I left another note with ICANN to inform them what happened, but nothing much has changed since then. Reporting- It's nothing much, but it's fun to poke PP.
Yes Mollie, I'm around but it seems PP don't care about Neosandra the child rape porn promiser bot. I've reported it as child porn twice so far. I won't bother today, I just moved them to an area to be kept for future evidence.
If anyone has access to a bot net, yes Child pron enablers like PP need to be harassed.
I would ban email registrations from modass.com first up if I had admin access, along with about 40 other bot emails.
Sorry I wasn't about yesterday ... _________________ The important thing is knowing who owns the fence |

Looks like finally this bot finally went away.
Hopefully that's the last we see of modass.com
I like that when I put "spam enablers" in google's search engine I see FW's critique of PP. But then google is using my cookie profile. _________________ The important thing is knowing who owns the fence |

I'm only on once a day.
oliviana@dlfeed.com has been reported to privacyprotect
The site is offering cracks and such for MS products, so maybe something might happen.
Last time I checked the spammer's site it was under the wing of some Ukrainian privacy service. _________________ The important thing is knowing who owns the fence |

I was loading up the 60 plus spam messages yesterday, and my modem protested by dying.
Yes, I wish someone could give me Admin permissions, and all forums would be moved to usergroup only, where the user can choose and only one is "right" and a rubbish bin like purgetory that where no usergroup is required. _________________ The important thing is knowing who owns the fence |

One day and 459 new messages isn't a good sign.
4.3 meg of bandwidth, just to fix the spam in just over one hour. I can only download 8 to 10 Meg an hour on a good day. _________________ The important thing is knowing who owns the fence |

Yeah, but there are good ways to minimise exposere to spammers.
phpbb3 for example, does have the option of placing all new members posts - approved by a mod only. _________________ The important thing is knowing who owns the fence |

DO EEEEET!
Fency says Yeah, soon I hope. Maybe irritus thought it might have taken me a while to add members to the group.
Anyhow I hope the public areas can be protected by being "real people only" Purg or a new hidden forum would still get some bots as scripts might just run through the numbers ie f=34. I'm not sure if an admin could make f="some large number" which is for newbies only.

It's an interesting little tidewater, or is that backwater on the old internet? This forum.
The few old timers, the rampant spambots, clueless no doubt, it just made me think of the Terminator series, how giving robots control ends up with humans suffering.
I wonder if the assholes behind the robots ever get attacked by their own creations. _________________ -

Yeah, I've got to email Mike and put in a few requests and see.
<snip stuff I've said many times before on spam protection>
Lately I've been on 2 or 3 times a day. I've been trying to get on by 9pm to leave it all clean and again at 2am or 7am. _________________ The important thing is knowing who owns the fence |

Not really, the thread isn't locked.
Just wonder how many bots must try to submit a form (I believe bots just circumvent the whole loading up a thread and hitting the reply button) to other threads that are locked. _________________ The important thing is knowing who owns the fence |

Did you ever hear the story about the Ticketmaster scam? The scammers/people buying all the tickets up online used robots that were designed to fill in the Captcha forms in a microsecond, so they could buy ALL the available tickets in the first minute of sale. (they then resold them at a huge profit)
If it involves a lot of money, there is no good way to stop robots. _________________ -

The CopyPasta Chef
If there's money or some other interest to hack or bend a service to their benefit, it's probable a small number trying will succeed.
As to forums, bots or the software that run them are getting smarter ... but it also means that they leave forums alone where the only place they can post once registered, is in a non public area. The programing of forum software is also "advancing" - turning off PMs for various usergroups is something they've finally figured out is important.
But it's like everything, while some people have worked out what needs to happen, the spammers rely on most places not bothering or knowing what to do. It's like I am considering putting up a site dedicated to business type web sites as the majority have no F'in clue. The web experience chasing a "particular" product didn't used to be such a cat and mouse game that it is now, perhaps it's a little different in the States, but in Aussie land I just wonder why some businesses even bother to put up a site. _________________ The important thing is knowing who owns the fence |

Yep, snapback, the stinking reply bot, has forced me to lock a numberf of threads in sightings.
As always, if anyone feels they'd like to make a comment on a locked thread, just let me know so I can unlock it for a few days.
I hate reply bots. _________________ The important thing is knowing who owns the fence |

195 new messages in 14 hours. Not promising at all.
I though these spammers from primarily new-purse would get the hint, I've been cleaning 3 times a day and blocking them as soon as they log on.
Of course I was forgetting ... most of the smart bot operators have realised there's no point spamming here since threads were stickied and locked. I guess dumb bots know [sic] no better.
They're trying to flog fake fashion stuff. I wonder if someone reported their domains to the counterfeit gang what would happen. _________________ The important thing is knowing who owns the fence |

OK the bots are dumb but they keep on hitting this topic the last few days. Yes out of frustration I edited a few responses to be "unfriendly" to their advertisers, but as I removed the last 10000 words spam posts I decided enough is enough.
Sure members post on this topic to vent their frustration but for a couple of weeks I'm going to lock it.
Thank goodness the art of war spam goes to the rear end of the forum, as for a few days it once again is nothing to see on a daily basis 5 pages of topics - all spam raving shit. _________________ The important thing is knowing who owns the fence |

Spammers are finally getting smarter ... well they're woken up Art isn't a good place to post their rubbish. Now they are populating the front pages of the other forums.
I might sticky a couple of forums, but I might write to seek some emergency action instead.
If anyone does post a new topic, it might be worth while to make a back up. I do look, but the volume I'm dealing with, it's easy to miss legitimate topics. _________________ The important thing is knowing who owns the fence |
