| When trolling a forum, use a screen name you haven't used before. Never reveal your e-mail, PSN, or other contact details, or your membership on other forums. If the forum's resident Propeller Heads (as well as Script Kiddies if they're a seperate warrior) catch wind of that information, it can disable your only effective escape route when you run afoul of them and threaten to hack you. If they know nothing, you can say "fine then, hack me" and you'll lose one account (maybe), while they pay with a ban (if they don't hack you, you've shown them up for the fraud they are). But if they know your hotmail, your name on other forums, etc. they can really wreak havoc. If there's a chance of that happening, all you can do is run to the mods - but by that point, they may be siding with the hackers. |
