Wicked Archivist may be a variant of Archivist, or this may just be a tactic. I'll let the experts settle it.
WA doesn't repost an old message to make a point, but re-activates old topics, just to humiliate or mock an entire community. Or to make a point, or something.
The activity generally annoys old members, especially if they were part of the old thread, and it contains less than flattering examples of their behavior.
Noobs don't notice anything, other than a new topic on their radar, often an interesting one to them, but the frequent poster, OK, the ones who are on 24 hours a day, every day, and read everything within seconds of it showing up, they are constantly annoyed by "old" topics being "resurrected", and may try to call "Necro", thinking the warrior is just trying to raise the dead.
But the placement and timing of the topics is actually directly related to new subjects, sometimes so much that the old topic is the same as the "new" topic just created, making the topic creator look stupid, lazy, or worse.
Even worse, the WA posts old posts with out quoting, in new topics, leading to the amazing event of an old timer, raging with anger, attacking his own words. Then, after things have reached a fever pitch, the WA posts the links to the original posts, and the attacks turn to the illegal use of others words with out attribution, while the lulz of seeing an old timer faced with their own hypocrisy is ignored.
The WA seems to delight in some sort of verbal Akido, then defending by posting even more old posts, at which point nobody is quite sure if they should attack, because it might be their own points they are fighting.
It seems to be a deadly and effective tactic, with the WA earning the hatred of almost every current warrior. Old warriors, thought to be long gone suddenly appear and join the fray, which reactivates old conflicts, sparked by the unresolved conflicts long thought forgotten, and the WA actually sinks into oblivion as raging battles between old and bitter foes take over the arena.
The WA doesn't ever present any reason for starting the conflicts, and innocently protest being responsible for the fights.
Banning soon follows for the WA, and while there is no actual rule against the tactic, everybody knows you can't have somebody dragging skeletons out of the closet and parading them around like they are still alive. _________________ -

Yes you're right FX, I was looking over the first couple of months of some of the more interesting threads, and heh, I shake my head. _________________ The important thing is knowing who owns the fence
Lol, this really reminds me of a mysterious poster by the name of 'TheFacer' whose sole objective was to discredit Harry Knowles and other reviewers over at AICN way back in time between the period of 2001-2003. The person amassed a horde of followers that went from movie site to movie site lambasting AICN for their blatant shilling. Mimic accounts were created, fearless (mis)leaders came out of the woodwork, and a plethora of fanboys jumped up to defend sinking ships. It was glorious to watch the clusterf*** ensue. Many a poster was banned to include the deletion of whole posts and topics from many a movie site just from one mention of solidarity with TheFacer. I tell you it was like watching a modern and on-line reinterpretation of Stalin's reign played out by participants in their parents' basements/'pwesent' after-party.
Well, what does this have to do with WA? Well, his minions are occasionally out there and like to resurrect dead topics (or, they could be clueless newbs) to piss off the fanyboys who still remain. It even went so far on a certain forum to create a "Troll"list where disgruntled posters could post names of their rivals in order to possibly get them banned, even if they had no direct relationship with TheFacer, then it just continued. Usually, something like that gets trolled when topics start to abound with how the forum is so tolerant.
It's hard to give you a really good example of WA as every comment and post was deleted that even mentioned any sort of questioning AICN's ability to give unbiased reviews. But, pretty much the damage was already done. And, his fanboys either re-adjusted the reasons for their undying support or ate crow.
It wouldn't bother me, I'd feel flattered that someone tried to shame me by some of my old work, but it'd be nice to see how far I've come sense then. It'd be like taking a time traveling machine, gathering myself from different periods in time, and then kicking the ass of someone and showing them how wrong they are over 9000 times!
I don't see how this is really any different then normal archivist. It's just more specific. But since the tactic and focus is generally the same, I'd say it just goes hand in hand with archivist. Whether you choose to use specific quotes or bring up old topics all together is just semantics. _________________ The mass, whether it be a crowd or an army, is vile.
