Well now that I've got a break, I guess I can contribute something. I saw somebody do this a long time ago on a video game board. A Veteran thought he was Untouchable, just because he was a Veteran. Whoops. Razz

Assumed Invincibility

Assumed Invincibility happens when a warrior, for some strange reason, believes himself to be an Untouchable. This can happen for many reasons:

-The warrior underestimates the administration. He thinks that the Admins are ninnies or completely absent. He may also be used to getting away with it on a different forum and forget that the Admins are more careful elsewhere.
-The warrior overestimates his ties to the adminstration. He's usually a friend of a friend of a friend of the Admin, an aquaintence of the Admin from kindergarten, or the Admin's sister's friend's cousin's ex-wife's brother's son's former roomate. However, he seems to think his hair-thin bond is as good as any.
-The warrior was probably a Veteran or an Ent from way back in the day, though an unproductive one. He may not have done anything special back then, but thinks that just the fact that he's an old member gives him the right to do anything.

The foolish warrior then proceeds to try and wreack havoc on his forum; it can be anything from mass spam to acting like a Palooka. When anyone protests, he simply assures the protesting warriors that he will never be banned.

Of course, as soon as he says that, the offending warrior is immediately banned. Everyone knows what assuming does to U and ME, right?

The wannabe Untouchable may try to come back under a different handle. However, his clones are usually so obvious they're banned in seconds.

"Don't ass-u-me" is always good advice. Some admins have their panties in such a wad that they will ban even a respected member over trifling personal disputes. Always know what kind of people are running the board before taking a risk, unless you don't care what happens.

In the case our admin, I'd say disparaging remarks about liquor are out.

The best way to not get banned is to never say you can't get banned. Very Happy

It (posting quotes with no response) must be to Anarchy's posts ... Thats what I gather at least.

But WTF is the point?
